Whether or not you have given birth to or raised a child, I know that you have mothered someone.
You have loved, nurtured, cared for, listened to, cooked for, cleaned up after someone you love.
You have slipped a $20 into the palm of a teenager’s hand.
You have driven someone to the airport, fielded more than one tearful midnight phone call, rushed to the hospital to sit at someone’s bedside, holding their hand.
Today, I honor you – wherever you are – whatever your story. We are all mothers for one another and for the earth. This day (and, in my heart, every day) is dedicated to you – and the love that, through your beautiful heart, you bring to the world.
