Come on, we can all see it twinkling there, around the edges of the blanket, the box top, the bushel where you think you’ve so cleverly hidden it. You aren’t fooling anyone.
And it takes so much work to hide it. Just let it out. I dare you.
Everyone of us has a gift to bring to the world – let’s have yours. Right now. Hand it over.
Shine… Oh, if you knew how beautiful, special, sexy, and how beloved you are, you would stand in your own presence and sob. I kid you not.
Come out . . . please!
Stop putting yourself second. Stop giving your power away. Stop investing the priceless gift of your CHOICE (the most powerful possession you’ve got) in intermediaries – celebrities, gurus, enlightened masters, mediums. Don’t let them set your agenda for you.
Choose for yourself
Let me tell you a secret all those enlightened masters know. Here’s the one formula, the one action they take (often) (every day). They choose toward love.
Choose toward love
No matter what happens.
- Even if your spouse starts that stale old argument – you know, the one where you face off from opposite sides of the kitchen table shouting; the one where you know exactly what your spouse is going to say; and what you’ll say in response – choose toward love.
- Even if your boss comes toward you with another lame joke or dumb ass assignment that is SO not your job; or someone says something really random during a meeting and wastes everyone’s time – choose toward love.
- Even if your child gets in trouble at school again or talks back or doesn’t clean his room or leaves her dishes in the sink or starts texting while you are talking with him or refuses to go to visit her grandparents – choose toward love.
If you get splashed by a puddle, choose toward love. When you are approached by a homeless person, choose toward love. If you lock your keys in your car, choose toward love. (And not just toward the police officer who helps you out: Choose to love yourself, too.)
When you disagree with a politician, choose toward love. When When you hear some outrageous lie another radio talk show host is spewing, yes, even then, choose toward love. (and trust me, I had to take a deep breath myself for that one.)
But do it anyway. Choose toward love.
We need you.
The more you choose toward love, the more love is added to the collective choice. Why does this matter? Because together, the thoughts and the actions those thoughts trigger, stimulate and inspire form the world that we live in.
Stand up.
Assume your place, as an integral, beloved, necessary and worthy part of the wholeness that is Love. No matter what you’ve done in the past, choose toward love. No matter if you think you’ll be ridiculed, choose toward love. No matter how CERTAIN you are that it won’t make a lick of difference, choose toward love anyway.
Shine.
Right now. Yes, in the middle of the office/cafe/living room where you’re sitting.
Shine.
Shine your beauty, your joy, your talent, your love into the world. Choose toward love. As the angels have shown me, this is the way to tip the balance in favor of love, of light, of kindness, of love.
When we do, there won’t be a need for angels; for we’ll have built our own bridge of light directly to the source of that light – and we will have done it one choice (toward love) at a time.

What a beautiful post. Just what I needed to hear today…and every day! In fact, I am printing this one out.
Very uplifting, Amy. Too often, most people do not realize how powerful they are. Putting all that positive love energy out into the world is wonderful. The more you send out, the more returns to you. Can you imagine what would happen if thousands of people did this? I think it could effect significant change in the world.
ohhhh… Amy. That potent combination:
Choose toward love + I dare you….
Feeling those from my tiniest toes to my gut to my heart to my shoulders to my scalp.
Yes.
Love, love, love this — (kinda grinning at all the LOVE)!
Just reading this: “Oh, if you knew how beautiful, special, sexy, and how beloved you are, you would stand in your own presence and sob.”
made me catch my breath.
Wow!!
LOL – LOVE you for stopping by, and commenting!
LOVED this post. And I so get it. A long time ago a colleague said to me “make decisions from a place of love, not from a place of fear” and I SO get it now. Didn’t fully get it then.
Great post!
Jen
How did you know I was hiding?
Love this post … a keeper. Printing it out as reminder. thank you!
What a beautiful post. You write with a childlike honesty and radiant opalescence. I forget to shine when I write. Get too matter of fact and to the point . I am going to go revise what I am working on so that it shines. Thanks Amy.
I choose toward love. I do.
And I love this post, love its message and the kindness it helps to spread. This is the way I try to live my life. I fail, often, but it’s the trying that counts, I hope.
Thank you.
Just beautiful! I started to read before I left for the office and did some shining and choosing of love for myself and others on my way. Finished reading and know you are amazing and such a gift in my life! Thank you!
No more hiding!
Love you!
