There is nothing out there that will fill the emptiness you feel

I know that it may seem as if a soul mate or dream job or better home will fix this; will complete you. But it won't. It can't.

Like all things, your emptiness has a center. Like all things, your emptiness opens outward from its center. The center of your emptiness is the void that is formed when you abandon yourself and the only thing that can fill it is you  - returning to re-occupy your own life.

I know that this doesn't make sense from inside the story our culture tells: the story of "You need this shiny object to be happy." But there's a part of you that knows those things are empty substitutes for the real prize you seek. That 'something' is calling you home now. That 'something' is you - the full you, the awakened you.

What you really seek, the only thing that will ever fill that emptiness is the return of your abandoned self to the heart of your life: your own illuminated and empowered self, finally coming home.
